Neal Acree is our composer guest this week. He’s been contracting with Blizzard for years, initially scoring cinematics for World of Warcraft. That blossomed into writing more and more for Blizzard games, including WoW expansions, Diablo III, Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void, and more.Revelation is the newest game Neal’s scored, and this music is great. The game is made by Chinese developer NetEase. Sam and I love the blend of Eastern and Western harmonies and instruments. Neal did such a fabulous job with this soundtrack!
GlitchCon happened in Minneapolis last weekend, and I moderated a panel with three composers on it called the Game Music Melee. It was like a game jam, but with music. You’ll hear the tracks Charlie McCarron, Troy Strand and Robert Frost III wrote in only 30 minutes.
