Joon Media 08: Austin Wintory and Lennie Moore
Hi friends!
I love the combination of Lennie Moore’s 70s funk score for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive next to Austin Wintory’s new music for Assassins’ Creed Syndicate. They’re both so great and soooooo different!
I met Lennie a couple years ago here in Minneapolis. He came to do a symposium at McNally-Smith College of Music along with the American Composers Forum. In addition to his talents as a composer, Lennie is a computer nerd. BIG TIME. So he and I chatted about a software program called Wwise, which will be available later as video bonus content. We also spoke about his ridiculously fun and great music for Counter-Strike: GO.
I’ve met Austin a time or two as well, and we’ve done interviews over the years about his music for Journey and Monaco. He wrote music for the new Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a game that takes place in Victorian London. He took the sound of the game in a very new direction for the series, and it was neat to hear his thoughts on why it works so well.
As always, thank you for your support! We are grateful for it 🙂
